September 13, 2021, Video: "In early 2020, Emmanuel Macron established a commission of renowned international experts to analyse the major economic challenges facing France and other similar economies. The commission recently published their report, "The Major Future Economic Challenges", outlining key recommendations that would allow countries to respond more effectively to these challenges. At this event, we focused in more detail on one of the long term structural economic challenges identified by the report: inequality and economic insecurity. The authors of the inequality chapter of the report, Stefanie Stantcheva, Professor of Economics at Harvard University, and Dani Rodrik, Ford Foundation Professor of International Political Economy at the John F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University, presented their findings from the report, including how to improve equality of opportunity, increase the fairness of taxation, better prepare people for good jobs, and stimulate the creation of good jobs in the first place. They were then joined by Richard Blundell, a member of the Commission, to answer your questions." Watch Via the Institute of Fiscal Studies
