From Pirates to Hall Monitors

January 13, 2026, Opinion: "In my last post, I separated the reactions to Operation Absolute Resolve and the Maduro arrest into three lenses:

1. Law (was the operation legal?),
2. Political philosophy (what kind of political design are we entrenching if we normalize this, and do we want that design?), and
3. Moral philosophy (considering what Maduro has done to Venezuelans, was this the “right” thing to do?).

Here I’m mostly staying with that second lens...."
