March 29, 2022, Opinion: "Late Thursday, March 25, the dam broke in Brussels. The resulting flood will inundate Washington.  The governing bodies of the European Union (EU) reached an agreement on oversight of dominant internet platforms such as Apple, Meta (Facebook), Alphabet (Google), Amazon, and Microsoft. The interconnected nature of the internet means that the new Digital Markets Act (DMA) will have far-reaching effects outside of EU nations. The proposal is set for formal adoption in October and will take effect in 2023."
