The National Academy of Medicine definition of a Learning Health System is: "a system where science, informatics, incentives, and culture are aligned for continuous improvement, innovation, and equity. In this system, best practices and new discoveries are seamlessly integrated into the healthcare delivery process, and new knowledge is generated as a direct byproduct of the patient care experience.” This seminar will address the progress that has been made over the past 20 years and also the challenges still to be met to achieve this goal."
