Global Health Institutions

Global Health Institutions ("Acting in Time" for Health Project)

While much of our work on the Initiative had focused on the environmental realm, it seemed increasingly clear that some of our findings might have broader applicability to additional domains of sustainable development. We therefore developed a study on "Linking Knowledge with Action in Global Health" to understand the revolution in unconventional public-private partnerships that has begun to improve linkages between what medical science knows with what health systems deliver with regard to catastrophically deadly diseases of the developing world. The collaboration has involved researchers from Harvard's Kennedy School of Government (Bill Clark, Nicole Szlezak, and Dean Jamison), Harvard's School of Public Health (Suerie Moon, Barrie Bloom and Julio Frenk), and the Boston University School of Public Health (Gerald Keusch).
