2024, Book Chapter: "An Economic Strategy in a New Cold War" - Whether or not we are in a Cold War, a substantial portion of our political leadership on both sides of the aisle acts as if we are with China and also on the edge of a hot war with Russia, even as their policy approaches differ on the latter. The principal objective of a Cold War is prevention of a hot war. Both sides want to deter mutually assured destruction of our physical, environmental and economic worlds. But a retreat into isolationism and unilateralism is not the way to win a Cold War or prevent a hot war. Any war, hot or cold, combines offense and defense. And a winning strategy, as every coach knows, combines both."
