Blowing Bubbles: How Investors, Regulators, and the Press Reinforce Exuberance (Spring 2014)

In this four-part study group, M-RCBG Senior Fellow Vikram Mansharamani will guide participants through a detailed study of financial bubbles. Guest speakers will include accomplished senior professionals from the investment, regulatory, and media fields. Each session will be 90 minutes in length.

Vikram Mansharamani is a Lecturer at Yale University where he teaches the seminar “Financial Booms & Busts” to Yale College undergraduates and co-teaches “Adventures in Business Ethics" to business school and undergraduate students. He is also the author of BOOMBUSTOLOGY: Spotting Financial Bubbles before They Burst and is a regular commentator in the financial and business media. He has been an active participant in the financial markets for the last 20 years, during which time he has held positions in management consulting, investment banking, and asset management. He currently serves as chairman of the Torit Language Center Montessori school and is a member of the Board of Governors of the Association of Yale Alumni. He earned a PhD and MS from the Sloan School of Management at MIT, an MS in Political Science (Security Studies) from MIT, and a BA from Yale University, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa and graduated with distinction. As a senior fellow, he will conduct research for a project on the relative abilities of generalists and specialists to navigate uncertainty.
