Senator Linda Dorcena-Forry, Massachusetts State Senate, former Rappaport/Boston Urban Scholar

Senator Dorcena-Forry will discuss her career progression through the House and Senate, along with her legislative priorities. She represents the 1st Suffolk District in the Massachusetts State Legislature since her election in 2013.  She serves as the Assistant Majority Whip and as Vice Chair for the Joint Committee on Housing and for the Senate Committee on Intergovernmental Affairs. She also was a State Representative of the 12th Suffolk District from 2005 - 2013.  Upon her election to the House of Representatives, Dorcena Forry became the second Haitian American to hold public office in Massachusetts. Previously she worked in the Department of Neighborhood Development for the City of Boston and was a Legislative Aide for the former State Representative Charlotte Golar Richie. She received her M.P.A. from the Harvard Kennedy School in 2014 and was a Rappaport/Boston Urban Scholar.
