Helping students and professionals increase their understanding of disaster risk management and crisis leadership is one of PCL’s core objectives. PCL faculty direct and participate in a range of educational programs, including courses in Harvard degree programs, in intensive executive education programs, and at the Harvard Extension School. Specialized training tailored to the needs of particular jurisdictions or organizations are also offered.

These educational programs feature experienced Harvard faculty; discussion-based instruction, frequently through analysis of case studies of actual disaster situations; peer-to-peer learning; and well-known guest instructors.
