Cambridge, MA — The Women and Public Policy Program (WAPPP) at Harvard Kennedy School is pleased to announce that Janice Bryant Howroyd is the new chair of its Women's Leadership Board (WLB). Janice assumed her new role on July 1, 2022, succeeding Carol J. Hamilton, Group President, Acquisitions of L’Oréal USA.
Janice Bryant Howroyd has been a long-time member of the WLB since 1999 and joined the Executive Committee in 2018. Founder and CEO of Act 1 Group, Janice has demonstrated her passion for women's leadership and gender equity and is a tireless advocate for education and women’s rights. Janice’s extraordinary vision will enhance the WLB's partnership expanding WAPPP's global impact.
The WLB is comprised of leaders from the most senior levels of business, academia, and the non-profit sector dedicated to philanthropically supporting WAPPP's mission, growth, and impact. WAPPP is a research center at Harvard Kennedy School that provides gender insights into work, politics, and conflict to develop rigorous thought leadership that advances women and gender equity globally. Members of the WLB serve as key ambassadors to WAPPP by supporting its research, policy outreach, and leadership development.
