Education Policy and Advocacy

This course offers an exploration of contemporary education policy issues at the federal, state, and local levels. Students will learn about and analyze the historical development of major education policy topics, current debates, and potential policy advances. They will be exposed to and make use of methods for influencing the direction of future policy. Topics covered include: civil rights, school finance, teacher quality, selective college admissions, student financial aid, and college quality.
