Strategic negotiation skills are crucial for any effective leader, and can be developed and enhanced like any other skillset. In an increasingly global environment, the complexities of an international context bring added challenges to effective negotiation and leadership. Even if you plan to work in a domestic environment, global interactions will be an inherent component of your professional world. This module will provide students with a set of fundamental negotiation tools and skills that can be applied in any context. We will also offer additional approaches and techniques that particularly apply to the challenges of international negotiation dynamics. We will use simulations, case studies, lectures, video analysis and personal reflections to provide a comprehensive, exciting and interactive experience which will change the way you think about how to negotiate as a leader in a global environment.
Students must be available every Monday from 4:15 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. to participate in required group exercises.
Course Lectures are held on Mondays and Wednesdays from 1:15-2:30, and mandatory Simulation/Case Study Sessions are held on Mondays from 4:15-6:00.
