The Committee on General Scholarships (CGS) at Harvard University administers scholarship, fellowship, and loan funds that provide financial assistance to Harvard students. CGS offers both restricted scholarships and specific international fellowship funds that may be awarded to students in any faculty in the University, including the Kennedy School. These are country/region or religion specific and are very competitive since all admitted applicants and current students around the University are eligible to be considered.
Restricted scholarships are usually in the amount of a few thousand dollars and are intended to supplement a primary source(s) of funding. Applicants are considered based upon the information provided on the Application for Financial Assistance which is submitted directly to the Harvard Kennedy School.
CGS international fellowship funds range from a few to several thousand dollars. These funds are not awarded through the Harvard Kennedy School financial assistance process and require a separate application.
Detailed application and contact information as well as a full list of fellowship and restricted scholarships opportunities are available at the Committee on General Scholarships (CGS) at Harvard University.
