AI, Influence, and the Future of Democratic Communication

Artificial intelligence is reshaping the information landscape – transforming how societies communicate, form opinions, and decide what and whom to believe. Zviad Adzinbaia, an international scholar and practitioner in technology, information resilience and democracy, will explore the new frontiers of strategic communication in the era of generative AI, where perception, narrative, and technology converge.

Drawing on findings from a multinational experiment examining how citizens in the United States, and several European democracies respond to real and AI-generated political content, he will present select excerpts and discuss what they reveal about the psychology of trust, authenticity, and democratic resilience.
