In this study group, M-RCBG Senior Fellow David M. Mizrachi Fidanque will lead a discussion on some of the critical aspects involving cooperation between businesses and government to prevent the use of digital marketplaces to sell counterfeit goods. The session will start by analyzing the exponential rise in internet sales prior to and following the onset of the COVID epidemic. We will then discuss the legal standards of care imposed by the courts upon private operators of electronic marketplaces when faced with third party use of their virtual platforms to sell counterfeit goods. We will also focus on private sector self-regulating initiatives and government driven enforcement tools.
This study group / discussion is open to all HUID holders. Registration is not necessary.
