Join The Behavioral Insights Student Group (BISG) for an inspiring conversation with Mary MacLennan, Senior Advisor on Behavioural Science at the Executive Office of the UN Secretary-General.


Mary MacLennan leads the UN Behavioural Science Team and the UN Behavioural Science Group within the UN Innovation Network. With over a decade of experience across international organizations, government, and academia, she has pioneered behavioral science teams worldwide and advised institutions such as the OECD, UN Women, and the WHO.


Her work applies behavioral insights to pressing global challenges, from health to online decision-making, and her research has been featured in The Lancet Global Health and other leading journals. Beyond the UN, Mary is a Senior Visiting Fellow at the London School of Economics and an Institute Fellow at the University of Cambridge.
