​Join us for an IOP Special Event: Behind the Scenes of History with Pulitzer Prize Winning Photographer David Hume Kennerly.

Kennerly
won the 1972 Pulitzer Prize in Journalism for Feature Photography for
his images of the Vietnam War and other work from 1971. Two years later
President Gerald R. Ford appointed him his chief White House
photographer.Kennerly has photographed eleven U.S. presidents
from Johnson to Biden, and was a contributor to Time, Life and Newsweek.
His books include, Shooter, Photo Op, Seinoff: The Final Days of
Seinfeld, Photo du Jour, Extraordinary Circumstances: The Presidency of
Gerald R. Ford, and David Hume Kennerly On the iPhone. He was
nominated for a Primetime Emmy as executive producer of NBC’s, The
Taking of Flight 847, and co-wrote and executive produced the NBC pilot
Shooter starring future Academy Award winner for Best Actress Helen
Hunt.  The movie was based on his Vietnam experiences and shot on
location in Thailand. Shooter won the Emmy for Outstanding
Cinematography. He also produced The Spymasters: CIA in the Crosshairs
for Showtime, and The Presidents’ Gatekeepers about White House Chiefs
of Staff for Discovery.
