This webinar is part of the Capacity Building for Sustainable Development (C4SD) seminar series.

This virtual seminar will feature: Jess Newman (Senior Director of Agriculture and Sustainability, McCain Foods), who will speak about implementing regenerative agriculture practices across global supply chains and the specific challenges of addressing equity in this work. Doug Rauch (Founder and President of Daily Table, former President of Trader Joe's), who will speak about the challenges and opportunities for advancing access to affordable and nutritious food in vulnerable communities in the United States. Simon Winter (Vice President, Reimagining Humanitarian Nutrition Security, The Rockefeller Foundation, and former M-RCBG Senior Fellow), who will speak about his work shifting from reactive food aid to locally-led systems that build equitable and lasting food security in fragile regions. The seminar will be moderated by Alicia Harley (Senior Research Fellow, Sustainability Science Program, Harvard Kennedy School).

This seminar is the first in a virtual bi-weekly series on Building Capacity for Sustainable Development. The series seeks to integrate insights from scholars and practitioners on how to get things done in tackling the multiple intertwined crises of the Anthropocene: climate change, extinction, war, inequality, and rising authoritarianism. Additional information on the series is available here.

The series is organized by M-RCBG, Sustainability Science Program, Salata Institute for Climate and Sustainability, Center for International Development, and the Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs.

M-RCBG welcomes individuals with disabilities to participate in its programs. To request accommodations or ask questions about access provided, please email mrcbg@hks.harvard.edu.
