Carr in Conversation with Amani Matabaro Tom

Event Description: Join the Carr Center for Human Rights Policy for our new “Carr in Conversation” series. This series will examine human rights issues both at home and abroad, bringing in a wide range of experts to participate in these discussions to help better understand these challenges and how to address them.


During this conversation, Carr Center Fellow, Amani Matabaro Tom, will discuss the current political situation in the Democratic Republic of Congo and the human rights violations that are currently occurring there. Specifically, he will examine international involvement in illegal mining operations in the DRC as well as the current smuggling of minerals by Chinese nationals.
