Ashley Judd has spent more than three decades in the public eye, first as a Golden Globe and Emmy-nominated actress, and increasingly as one of the most recognized voices for human rights and human dignity on the global stage. One of the original Silence Breakers, her willingness to share her truth on the record was among the catalysts of the #MeToo movement, which permanently altered how society confronts abuse of power. In 2019, the United Nations recognized that contribution by naming her Global Advocate of the Year.

Her humanitarian work has taken her to 22 countries across four continents, carried out through sustained partnerships with international organizations dedicated to the health, safety, and dignity of women and girls, including her long-standing role as a UNFPA Goodwill Ambassador. She has traveled not as an observer, but as someone genuinely present, visiting with refugees, sitting with patients in hospitals, and standing with communities the world has left behind, listening directly to those affected by gender inequality and sexual violence and advocating for the reproductive rights and health of women and girls worldwide.

In this conversation, Judd reflects on the intersection of storytelling and activism, the lessons learned from her years of fieldwork, and what it means to use a public platform in service of human dignity. Drawing on her New York Times bestselling memoir All That Is Bitter and Sweet, she will explore how personal experience and global engagement have shaped her commitment to justice, and what she believes it will take to build a more equitable world.
