Carr-Ryan Conversations: Designing a Gender Responsive Global Labor System

Join us for a candid conversation between Samira Rafaela, former European MP and Visiting Scholar in Feminist Jurisprudence at Cornell Law School, and Tim McCarthy, Global LGBTQI+ Human Rights Program Faculty Chair

It will be an exploration on what it takes to design a labor system that responds to gender disparities at a global level. They will draw from Ms. Rafaela's successes in making international trade more equitable, from her leading of negotiations for the EU forced labor ban to her advocacy for the first dedicated EU gender and trade chapter. The speakers will share perspectives on policy, advocacy, and human rights, offering concrete ideas for achieving greater fairness and inclusion in international labor policy.

This event is aimed at those interested in how to implement meaningful strategies for integrating human rights into global policy.
