Registration for Data Carpentry has closed. Sign up for the HKS Library Newsletter to be the first to register for our Spring 2025 workshop.

Data Carpentry is a two-day, beginner-friendly workshop that will give you the foundational knowledge to take on data-intensive research with confidence. Data and technical skills are in high demand in the public policy field. You'll be able to use the basic tools and concepts taught in this workshop in your coursework and your career. Plus, you'll get free breakfast and lunch on both days, and build community with folks within and beyond the HKS community!

Here is what you'll learn and when:

  • Friday, September 6, 9AM-4:30PM, Spreadsheets and R | Learn how to enter, format, and organize your data. Get started learning how to analyze your data in a reproducible way.
  • Friday, September 13, 9AM-4:30PM, OpenRefine and R | Learn how to clean and fix errors in your data. Continue learning how to analyze your data in a reproducible way, and start visualizing it.
