An overview about 2 democracy talks events. One is Democratic Innovation happening on February 20th, and the other is about AI and democracy, happening on March 11th.

In this semester’s first event of the "Democracy Talks" series, we will explore innovations to democratic institutions. In a time of great political change globally – in light of democratic backsliding, the impact of artificial intelligence, and citizen frustration with incumbent politicians in many countries – efforts to reform civic participation in political processes are more important than ever. Featuring insights from Hélène Landemore and Michiel Bakker, this discussion will invite attendees to critically examine the strengths and limitations of current electoral structures and imagine potential alternatives. Through small group discussions, debate, and collective ideation, participants will engage directly with the issues, share their perspectives, and contribute to a shared vision for more participatory democratic processes.
