Want to make your PAE look eye-catching and professional while still meeting accessibility requirements? The HKS Library is here to help! You don't have to use customized design programs to achieve a sleek document -- simply taking advantage of Microsoft Word's many built-in design tools will do the trick.

In this workshop, we'll cover:

  • Design Principles: Conceptual best practices to guide your design choices.
  • Advantages of Microsoft Word: Why Word is your best friend for writing and design, and why to avoid programs like InDesign and Canva.
  • Design Features: How to use color schemes, font pairings, heading design, headers/footers, call-out boxes, multiple columns, and table design to make your PAE look great.
  • Accessible Design Templates: How to use the HKS Library's prepared document templates, which both meet accessibility requirements and leverage the design features listed above.

Find all of the workshop content and download the accessible templates on our PAE/SYPA Accessibility Canvas site.
