Development Finance from Wall Street: A Conversation with Faheen A, J.P. Morgan

Can a global investment bank be a force for development?

Join us for a conversation with Faheen Allibhoy, Managing Director and Global Head of Development Finance and Advisory at J.P. Morgan, who leads the firm's strategic relationships with the world's multilateral banks and DFIs. Faheen was the founding head of the J.P. Morgan Development Finance Institution, launched in 2020 to mobilise private capital for projects with measurable development impact in emerging markets, a unique step for a large global bank. She currently heads Development Finance & Advisory at JP Morgan, where she manages the firm’s transaction banking business with development institutions and the mobilization transactions JPM works on together with DFIs.

Before joining J.P. Morgan, Faheen spent 18 years at the International Finance Corporation, including as Regional Manager in Dakar overseeing investments and advisory operations across Senegal, Cape Verde, The Gambia, Guinea-Bissau and Mauritania, after beginning her career in investment banking at Merrill Lynch in New York.

She will discuss how J.P. Morgan approaches development finance, what it takes to bridge public mandates and private capital, and the choices that shaped a career spanning Wall Street, the World Bank Group and West Africa.

Moderated by: Nick O’Donohoe, Senior Fellow, Harvard Kennedy School, Mossavar-Rahmani Center for Business and Government.
