East Asia is moving forward with courage and persistence. Across the region, legal and social shifts continue to reshape the landscape of LGBTQI+ rights.
According to the LGBT+ Equality Index, most Asian countries continue to score in the lower ranges of LGBTQI+ legal equality, reflecting persistent legal barriers and structural discrimination. Yet change is underway—and the future remains ours to shape.
This webinar concludes our East Asia series and features Yanzi, Jennifer Lu, and Enkhmaa Enkhbold. Together, they will reflect on both the progress and challenges of LGBTQI+ activism across East Asia. The discussion will explore how activists build resilience, navigate constrained resources and political environments, engage with local cultural contexts, and continue advancing transformative movements for equality and justice.
