Come learn about the Reimagining the Economy Project's work on place-based policies in the U.S. We will also launch a beta version of our data visualization platform The Economy in Place, which synthesizes a range of public data as well as data we have acquired, to unpack economic conditions, policy flows, and institutional characteristics of local labor markets across the U.S.:
- How have earnings, employment, and social conditions in communities across the US evolved over the last several decades?
- How do these outcomes vary by gender, race and ethnicity, and level of education?
- How do policy flows correspond to these economic conditions?
- What kind of policies target “place” and how do these compare to those that target individuals and households?
- How do policies targeting workforce development, recruitment and retention of large firms, assistance to small and medium-sized firms, and investing in low-income regions, address place-based disparities?
Also meet our team, learn about opportunities to work with us, and upcoming events and programming.
