Ambassador Samantha Power will host prominent Russian opposition leader Vladimir Kara-Murza. Mr. Kara-Murza was sentenced to 25 years in prison for denouncing Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. He was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for the columns he continued to write from his prison cell for the Washington Post. He was freed in a historic East-West prisoner exchange in 2024. He is also the vice president at the Free Russia Foundation, a senior advisor at Human Rights First, and the founding chairman of the Boris Nemtsov Foundation for Freedom.
