Join Shomik Dutta, Ash Center Technology and Democracy Fellow and co-founder of Higher Ground Labs, for a workshop on how venture funders approach innovative ideas in democracy. He will cover trends in politics and how he approaches funding the next innovations to our democracy and politics. Participants will work on creating their own ideas to pitch that address existing challenges in the political landscape. This event proceeds a pitch contest held in December for Harvard students, where they will have the opportunity to present their ideas to a panel of funders and compete to earn a $10,000 investment prize.

The Ash Center's Technology and Democracy Workshop Series are hands-on, co-curricular events designed to help HKS and other students at Harvard develop real-world technology skills. Led by a network of technology practitioners, participants spend time working together and with the workshop leader to learn how to apply technical skills to impact real-world scenarios.
