Renter households have been disproportionately harmed by the financial fallout of the pandemic and this distress was concentrated at the neighborhood level, according to “The Geography of Renter Financial Distress and Housing Insecurity During the Pandemic,” a forthcoming paper being published as part of the Housing Crisis Research Collaborative. In this talk, Alexander Hermann, a Research Associate at the Center who co-authored the paper (with Sophia Wedeen, Whitney Airgood-Obrycki, and Christopher Herbert) will discuss the findings and whether emergency rental assistance reached residents in neighborhoods with the greatest needs.
