Graduate and undergraduate students from Harvard and other schools are invited to participate in Hack-A-House 2023, a 24-hour live, online, hackathon-style competition where students have 24 hours to complete and pitch a proposal for an innovative and scalable solution to solve the housing crisis in the US. Four prizes will be awarded, totaling $12,000.

Participants, who must be an enrolled student in an accredited college or university, can sign up as a team or as an individual. Teams cannot have more than five members and there is no limit to the number of student teams able to participate from any school or university. Individuals can compete on their own or can ask to be placed on a team. Harvard students interested in finding a team can contact david_luberoff@harvard.edu.

Teams will receive a detailed prompt at an online briefing at 2:00 pm ET on September 22. Participants are invited to watch the briefing in the conference room at the Joint Center for Housing Studies offices at One Bow Street, 4th Floor (light refreshments will be available). Students also are welcome to stay and work at the Center until our office closes at 5:00 pm. Teams will have 24 hours to complete and present their proposal for an innovative and scalable solution to address one of the three challenges.
