regulators, and professionals alike for diversity, equity, and inclusion
(DEI) public data disclosure. On August 6th, 2021 the SEC approved the
NASDAQ’s proposed rules for board diversity and disclosure. The new
listing standards will require each Nasdaq-listed company, subject to
certain exceptions, to have at least two diverse board members or
explain why it does not. Recently appointed SEC Commissioner (and former
MIT Sloan professor), Gary Gensler, is expected to announce more robust
human capital disclosure requirements for asset managers by Q1 of 2022.
The signals are talking. What once was a noble gesture by a handful of
companies seeking to publicly demonstrate their commitment to diversity
will soon be a key component of how investors and professionals evaluate
alignment and sustainability. In this course we will discuss how DEI
and human capital governance will shape the way companies acquire and
retain talent and investment.
