Global trade is no longer operating quietly in the background. Tariffs, export controls, supply-chain disruptions, and competition over critical technologies now shape markets, international alliances, and the global economy.
Join Soumaya Keynes, columnist and podcaster at the Financial Times, and Chad Bown, senior fellow at the Peterson Institute for International Economics, for a discussion of their new book, How to Win a Trade War. Drawing on history and current events, they examine how the global trading system is changing, what the West can learn from China, and what growing economic rivalry means for governments, businesses, and individuals.
The conversation will be moderated by Harvard faculty Gordon Hanson and Robert Lawrence.
This event is hosted by Harvard’s Center for International Development in partnership with Mossavar-Rahmani Center for Business and Government and Reimagining the Economy and will be held in a hybrid format. All are welcome. Harvard ID holders are encouraged to attend in person, while non-HUID guests are invited to join via livestream or access the event recording afterward.
