In this book talk, Elizabeth Linos will engage in a conversation with Dan Honig on the topic of motivation and purpose in the public sector. The discussion will focus on how governments can break from the status quo and cultivate a workforce of dedicated, empowered public servants. In Mission Driven Bureaucrats, Dan Honig argues that the use of compliance levers in our attempt to improve government hasn’t worked and it’s time to try something else. The key to better government lies not in stricter controls and more rigorous oversight but in empowerment and trust.
