This is the last in a three-part series of data
visualization workshops jointly taught by the Harvard Kennedy School
Library and the Loeb Library at the Harvard Graduate School of Design.
We will be hosting each workshop twice: once at HKS and once at GSD.
Instructors are James Adams (Manager of Research & Data Services,
HKS Library) and Bruce Boucek (GIS, Data, & Research Librarian,
Loeb Library at GSD).
In this hands-on workshop, we will build upon skills developed in the prior sessions for visualizing and mapping data (details on session 1, details on session 2).
We will cover advanced techniques to explore data and communicate your
findings more effectively. Attendance at prior workshops is not strictly
necessary, but attendees should understand some of the basics of using R
and/or QGIS.
We want to begin promptly, so please make sure to download and install both of the following prior to the workshop:
- R: https://cloud.r-project.org/
- RStudio (Desktop Edition): https://www.rstudio.com/products/rstudio/download/#download
- QGIS: https://qgis.org/en/site/
Can't make it to this workshop? We're teaching it again at GSD on November 3.
