Join us for lunch and a conversation on protecting immigrants’ rights while navigating complex legal and political landscapes.
Speakers, Fidel Maltez, City Manager, City of Chelsea, and Cristina Aguilera, Executive Director, Massachusetts Office for Refugees and Immigrants, will explore how state and municipal practitioners are working to advance inclusive policies that strengthen community trust and promote public safety, particularly under the current federal administration’s directives. We further hope to examine the legal constraints currently faced, strategies for building community protections, and the practical realities of designing policies that keep all residents safe, valued, and able to fully participate in civic life.
This event is part of the CPL student-generated event series and will be moderated by Michelle Fausto, CPL Equity Fellow and MPP candidate ’27.
Registration required. Lunch will be available beginning at 11:45am.
