Due to restrictive land use policies and NIMBY-fueled opposition, there is little to no rental housing in nearly one-third of US neighborhoods. Magda Maaoui, a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Center, will report on research she is doing with Whitney Airgood-Obrycki and Sophia Wedeen to examine whether the uneven geography of rental housing bolsters patterns of socioeconomic and racial segregation in the nation’s largest metro areas. She will also discuss policies that might produce more rental housing in places that currently have very little.

This event will be held on Zoom; register to attend.
