Join CID as we welcome President and CEO of the Centre for Economic Research in Pakistan Maroof Syed. With over 25 years of entrepreneurship, investment, and leadership experience, Mr. Syed integrates public policy, economics, and engineering expertise. His specialties include evidence-based governance, data analytics, decision sciences, political economy and adaptative leadership.

Drawing on the experience of CERP, this talk explores what it might take to build institutions that bridge these divides. By integrating rigorous research, program delivery, and policy engagement while developing revenue-generating capabilities that sustain the organization itself, CERP offers one example of how development institutions can evolve from project implementers into platforms that make evidence matter.

This event will be followed by a career chat in Perkins Conference Room (Rubenstein 429) from 1:15 PM-2:15PM for HUID holders.

This event is hosted by the Harvard Center for International Development and will be held in a hybrid format. All are welcome. Harvard ID holders are encouraged to attend in person, while non-HUID guests are invited to join via livestream or access the event recording afterward.
