The Role of Development Finance Institutions (DFIs) in Funding Climate Transition in Emerging Markets and Developing Economies (EMDEs)

Nick O’Donohoe, M-RCBG Senior Fellow, will lead a discussion on the evolving role of Multilateral Development Banks (MDBs) and Development Finance Institutions (DFIs) in funding the climate transition alongside their traditional development mandates.

The session will explore how these institutions are managing the balance between overlapping and distinct agendas, what this shift means for their strategies and asset allocation, and how effective they have been in catalyzing private sector investment in the climate transition alongside their own investments.
