Event Description: In moments of crisis—when political winds shift, legal protections are challenged, and the fabric of society feels strained—how do movements endure? How do they adapt, innovate, and continue the work of building a more just world? Co-hosted by the Global LGBTQI+ Human Rights Program at the Carr Center and the ALI LGBTQ Working Group, this event will examine these urgent questions through the lens of the LGBTQ+ movement—a movement that has thrived in the face of profound adversity.

Speakers:

Timothy Patrick McCarthy, Faculty Chair of the Global LGBTQI+ Human Rights Program

Jean Freedberg, Founding Faculty Affiliate and former leader of Global Partnerships at the Human Rights Campaign

Reggie Greer, former White House Senior Advisor for LGBTQI+ Issues and State Department Senior Advisor to the Special Envoy for LGBTQI+ Human Rights

Diego Garcia Blum (moderator), Director of the Global LGBTQI+ Human Rights Program
