Speechwriting for Politicians & Advocates
This workshop will cover the process of writing a speech for a political candidate, elected official, or other policy advocate. We will discuss different formats and types of persuasive speeches – stump speech, legislative debate/floor speech, formal testimony – and the mixture of value statement, personal anecdote, and policy argument that is effective in each setting. The workshop will also cover structuring tools, time management, and presentation tips.
