For better or worse, Donald Trump has completely upended America’s posture on the world stage: Military action in Venezuela and Iran; peace deals in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Rwanda, Cambodia and Thailand, Armenia and Azerbaijan, and India and Pakistan; trade wars with Canada; trade deals with the European Union, Britain, Japan, South Korea, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines and Cambodia.
We are in an age where artificial intelligence is center stage, military engagement is more than traditional kinetic warfare and autonomous vessels are an integral part of America’s operations. Is the current administration and America keeping up with its adversaries in these new technologies?
Will America emerge weaker or stronger on the world stage after the second Trump presidency? And what lasting effect will the Trump era have on U.S. diplomacy, America’s alliances, and the future of war, peace and deterrence?
