Study Group with Byron York: McCain to Romney to Trump: Doing Things the Old Way

The second session will begin at the end of the George W. Bush administration. To call it a low point for Republicans would be an understatement. The failures of the Iraq War weighed heavily on the GOP, while at the same time the exhaustion of the old Reagan model became impossible to ignore, and then, to top it off, the economy went to hell. The 2008 election arrived amid crisis. To meet the challenge, would the Republican Party forge a new path or go back to the old practice of nominating the guy who finished second the last time?
