.Nancy Rose, serving this academic year as Matina S. Horner Distinguished Visiting Professor at Harvard's Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study and a former deputy assistant attorney general in the U.S Department of Justice, will give her perspective on the worldwide debate over competition and antitrust, with special emphasis on the role of economics in stronger antitrust enforcement.
Professor Rose is the Charles P. Kindleberger Professor of Applied Economics and a former head of the Department of Economics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
The discussion will be moderated by Jonathan Sallet, who served alongside Professor Rose at the U.S. Department of Justice and who was her co-author on a recent article emphasizing the need for increased scrutiny of proposed mergers.
