Study Group with Ned Price: Watching the Watchers: Congressional Oversight of America’s National Security and Foreign Policy
The extraordinary authorities entrusted to America’s Intelligence Community demand robust checks and balances — chief among them, Congressional oversight. In recent years, however, rising partisanship on Capitol Hill and an increasingly assertive Executive Branch have tested lawmakers’ ability to exercise that oversight effectively. Congressman Jim Himes (D-CT), Ranking Member of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, will join us to examine the state of Congressional oversight in today’s Washington.
