Take This Job & Shove It – Workers Rights, Power, and What Government Has To Do With It

Workers do the difficult, often invisible things that keep our economy going and make life as we know it possible. We have seen in the last few years a renewed sense of worker power, with workers demanding better wages, unions, and protections from AI. What is government's role in building worker power? What should it be? What is the relationship between worker power and our democracy?

Both political parties claim to be the party of the working class. We will discuss what this means, whether President Biden fulfilled his promise to be the most pro-worker pro-union administration in history, and what the Trump administration means for workers? What would a true era of worker power look like and can it be sustained?

AUDIENCE: These conversations are open to members of the Harvard community. Please RSVP with a valid Harvard email address.
