Study Group with Mayor Tishaura Jones: Media, Messaging, and Misinformation: Identity, Narrative, and the Politics of Public Trust
In this session, students will engage with Dr. Jason Johnson—Associate Professor of Communication and Journalism at Morgan State University and political contributor for MSNBC—to examine how misinformation reshapes political reality. We’ll explore how distorted narratives about identity erode public trust, undermine legitimacy, and carry real consequences for how race, gender, and power are exercised in American democracy.
