February 2 and 9, 7PM
This hybrid hands-on workshop will cover the basics of Web3 - no previous background knowledge required. Bring your laptop and learn how to get a wallet and self-custody your digital assets (and avoid getting "F*X'd" by a centralized exchange!). You will also learn how to create your own token and your own decentralized autonomous organization.
This two-session workshop is open to anyone with a current HUID. Space is limited. Advance registration is required. Each session will end between 8:30-9pm. Pizza and refreshments will be served. There will be a live webinar for those who are unable to attend in-person.
Instructor: Steve Derezinski, who has taught Blockchain Ventures at MIT Media Lab, Babson and MIT Bitcoin club, and has been involved in Blockchains since 2016. The workshop is based on the semester-long classes he taught. He has an S.B. in mechanical engineering from MIT and an MBA from Sloan.
Session 1 (February 2): Overview of Web3, blockchain and crypto. Get a wallet and explore the Web3 world.
Session 2 (February 9): Create a DAO (online business), mint your own token, offer it for sale and begin trading it live.
In-person space is limited. Registration for this workshop is required.
