Writing Rigorous and Relevant Policy Analysis for Real Clients
Policy analysts are often asked to meet two demands at once. Their work must be analytically rigorous, but it must also be relevant to the people who need to use it. Drawing on key lessons from the forthcoming third edition of Public Policy Writing That Matters, this talk will offer practical guidance for navigating that balance. We will focus on clarifying the analytical core of an argument, making defensible recommendations, and communicating uncertainty in ways that build rather than undermine credibility. The session is designed for students who want their work to hold up both intellectually and in practice.
