The Executive Dean works closely with the Dean and Academic Deans to develop the strategic direction of Harvard Kennedy School and to implement that strategy. The Executive Dean also manages the business functions and operations of the School, including Executive Education, the Office of Financial Services, Information Technology, Library & Knowledge Services, Research Administration, Human Resources, and the Office of Facilities Management.
Janney Wilson became Harvard Kennedy School’s Executive Dean in January 2018. From 2014-2017 Janney served as Chief Financial and Administrative Officer at HKS, where she led key aspects of the campus transformation project including finances, mitigation and project management oversight. Prior to HKS, Janney held a variety of senior leadership roles at Liberty Mutual Insurance Group, worked in several financial management positions at Procter & Gamble, and provided strategic guidance as a consultant for a top tier international consulting firm. Janney earned her Bachelor's Degree from Yale University, and an MBA at Harvard Business School where she was a Baker Scholar.
